Personal Use Area Permits
This page includes information about Personal Use Gravel (MSB 23.10.120) and Personal Use Firewood (MSB 23.20.170) Permits. The Personal Use Areas (PUAs) listed here are flagged, signed, and open. A $25 PUA permit for each area is required. All PUA permits expire at the end of the calendar year.
Permits are sold online
and at the Land Management Office Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (located at the DSJ Building, 350 E. Dahlia Ave Palmer).
Purchase New Permit Online:
- Review the broad area map, location information, and public notices to aid in selecting the best location and material conditions to suite your needs.
- For more information, or to purchase a permit, click ‘More Info’ next to the location of interest.
- Click ‘Purchase Permit’.
- Login using your Mat-Su Borough eCommerce account or create an account if you don’t already have one. Fill out the application and complete your purchase online.

Add Units to an Existing Permit:
- Click ‘Login to See Existing Permits’.
- Click ‘View Permit’ under My Permits.
- Click ‘Purchase Additional Units’.
